The 16th Annual Coral Reef Swim Races 2011 – Buck Island to Buccaneer Hotel
On October 9, 2001 123 swimmers from around the United States gathered on St. Croix to swim in the 16th Annual Coral Reef Swim Races a.k.a “Buck-to-Bucc” due to the 5 mile swim starting at beautiful Buck Island and finishing at the Buccaneer Hotel. As usual, the weather was beautiful with the sun shining from a blue sky on the clear sparkling turquoise ocean. Swimmers enjoyed sighting turtles, eagle rays and colonies of starfish on the colorful coral reefs along the beautiful 5-, 2- and 1- mile courses. Friends and family gathered on the Mermaid beach at the Buccaneer Hotel enjoying the excitement of the races to the tunes of live tropical steel-pan music.

The 15th Annual Coral Reef Swim – Buck Island to Buccaneer Hotel
The 15th Annual Coral Reef 5 and 2 mile Swim Race, which took place Sunday October 10, 2010 was a huge success. The sun smiled over a lush green island and ocean was warm, calm and sparkling. The 5 mile race started at pristine soft sandy beach at Buck Island and ended at The Buccaneer Hotel’s beautiful Mermaid Beach, where swimmers were met by family and friends to the tune of Caribbean steel-pan music. VITF Kid’s Duathlon 10/3/2010
Island Triathlon arranged a duathlon for Kids on Sunday October 3, 2010 at Altoona Lagoon. Despite the weather reports predicting rain it turned out to be a beautiful and mostly sunny morning. A good time was had both by the racing kids as well as the parents and friends cheering from the sidelines. Pictures of the event can be viewed here.
